About this event

The project includes fox control (primarily via 1080 baiting, along with trapping around town areas) and releasing the calici virus for rabbit control.

The project area runs from Point Smythe near Venus Bay down to Walkerville, between the Walkerville Road and the coast.

We have a great line up of speakers.

Peter Homan, a wildlife ecologist with 53 years of experience, has undertaken numerous fauna surveys in our area. He'll be sharing some of the amazing photos and videos his camera traps have recorded, and helping us learn about the diverse and remarkable wildlife that lives in this part of the world.

Come and hear how the 1080 fox baiting program will work.

Peter Wright will fill us in on the fox trapping he's undertaken at Venus Bay over the last 10 years, and will demonstrate how the traps work.

We'll also hear how the rabbit calici virus release will be undertaken.

We'll also fill you in on how landholders in the project area can get involved, including putting in an expression of interest for fox baiting on your property.

Lunch will be provided after the presentations, along with the opportunity to catch up with the presenters and have your questions answered.
